Remember the game "Next"? Well, at least that's what I called it when I was a kid. Basically, someone would start a story with one sentence,  something like "In a land far away, there was an evil king named Luther". Then the next person in the group would continue the story with another sentence, then the next would add another, and it would keep going until the story grew into a full blown adventure where the last person would have to conclude the entire thing.

I loved that game and hated it at the same time. Loved it because I just loved stories in general and it would be pretty hilarious to see how wild and crazy these ones could get. I hated it because inevitably some joker would always ruin the game by saying something like "And then a meteor hit the earth and everybody died".

Ugh. I hated those jokers.

Now that I'm older I find myself itching to try that game again and hopefully getting better results. The internet is a perfect way to play this game on a much grander scale with writers from all over the world. I have no idea if it is possible, or how good it could be. Writing is usually a very introverted experience where you are always in control. To write something and have another person determine what direction that something will go can be nerve racking.

Regardless, I want to give it a shot and see what happens.

The goal is to get 100 authors, 1 by 1, to contribute 100 words to the story that I've started. Nothing more, nothing less. Throughout the process, readers on Wattpadd, TheFreshpen.ca and throughout social media will witness the story evolve and take shape and can comment along the way. Readers can also contribute to the story by designing chapter covers, and naming the title of the story and chapters. I have no idea how this project will end up, but I am really eager to find out.

Let's see how it works.
